Good morning! Today was a great day, especially since we are now more than half way through our trip and will be home in 9 more days! Rose was a very happy baby today. Everyday, you can see great progress in all of the babies and the lights in their eyes get brighter and brighter. Rose smiled alot today and almost laughed several times. She babbled alot and tends to make raspberry sounds with her mouth when she's happy. She mimics us when we wave to her and when we stick our tongues out at her. Actually, when she's really happy, she tends to stick her tongue out alot (especially when she catches a glimpse of her bottle). Have I told you that the girl likes to eat? If I haven't already, let me just tell you the girl likes to eat! She's really coming around and things keep getting better day by day. We had our medical exam required by the U.S. Consulate today. All the babies did exceptionally well. Actually, I think Rose actually thought it was kind of fun. They measured and weighed her, checked her ears, nose, and throat, and examined her body for any defects. It was pretty simple, but is usually pretty scary for some of the babies. When we took Lillian's group to get their exams 7 years ago, the noise in the room from the crying babies was deafening. This time, not so much. Rose didn't cry at all. She was very good. From there, we went and applied for her passport. That was a very simple process with the exception that we had to wait in the lobby for a hour prior to our appointment. Some babies napped, some played, some ate, and some got a little fussy, but overall it wasn't too bad. We finished the night off with a hallway party where we ate some Papa John's Pizza. It was soooooooo good! Nothing like a little taste of home when you're half a world away. For those of you not familiar with a hallway party, basically it is how it sounds. The rooms are not big enough to host everyone, so we gather in the open area at the end of our halls so the babies can play and we can socialize. It's a great place for all of us adoptive families to bond. It was a great time. Well, Rose is now out cold and both Lillian and Michelle are really close to joining her, so I had better wrap this up. Enjoy the pics! |
Hallway happy hour, awesome! Well you failed to mention if alcohol was involved, hopefully so! Let the countdown begin, I know you are all so ready, Rose won't know what to do when she gets home and has all that floor space to roam around and an entire cul de sac! Yes, Michelle you will be bringing her outside! Well we are headed to beach and pool, keep pics coming they are awesome, she looks cuter each day!
ReplyDeleteSounds like she is going to fit into the Sisler family well with the way she likes to eat. She and her cousin Caitlynn will get along well with eating everything in site. We can't wait to meet her.
ReplyDeleteI keep trying to post comments, but I accidently erase them each time.... very frustrating! I'm beginning to wonder if it is a hint that I shouldn't write so much:) Anyhow, of course Rose is darling, that basically sums up all of the unposted comments I tried to make! Lillian looks so cute playing with her. I am super happy about her sleeping so well too! You all look great! Keep the pics coming, I'm sort of addicted to your blog!
ReplyDeleteLove the matching outfits! Must be the ones you were telling me about. :) I was a little disheartened when you mentioned that her hair had been cut, but now....well, I'm just not sure she could be any more perfect if it reached the floor or any less perfect if she had been shaven bald. Looks like Lillian is still being a great big sister. How awesome to know that now, they will always have each other. You are lucky parents and they are very fortunate little girls. Counting down...9...8...

I love those adorable matching outfits! :) Lillian looks so proud to be a big sis! I can't wait to show all the new pics to the class on Monday! I'm sure they will want to post another letter to you as well. Take care in the final days there and have a save trip back!

Wise choice on the matching outfits...cutie pitooties they are!! Rose looks happier daily, as does Big Sis. A hallway party...how fun...any excuse for a gathering! Did Rose eat a bite of pizza too? I'm glad she's a good eater. She'll be able to keep up with your friends in the neighborhood and at Brookside! Hard to believe your halfway there. Nine days and counting down to homecoming!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time there!
