Savannah Day 2

It's OFFICIAL - she is OURS!!!!  As of about 9:30 this morning.

Savannah slept very well last night, she only was up once for a bottle of apple juice.  Once she had her juice she was back to sleep.  And when she sleeps she is out!!  We have made great progress today.  We have actually had a few smiles and giggles.  She started babbling quite a bit this afternoon.  She is loving Kari and Kari is loving her.

Day two in the life of Ella Rose

Well it is 9:30 Saturday Night all those little ones in the Blincoe room has finally gave it up. She is slowly coming around to those strange looking people, only expect everyday to get better. Would like to see her appetite pick up but tomorrow is a new day. We hope we eat and go you know what. All us Kentucky fans are getting up tomorrow morning to hopefully be able to review the game on the net. Enjoy new pictures from this evenning.

Rose Mei: Oh what a difference a day makes!

Totally exhausted last night.

Good morning! Before I go to bed, I thought I'd post some pics for your enjoyment. Today has been great. Rose slept through the entire night without a peep. The poor girl must have been emotionally and physically exhausted last night. She woke up a little fussy this morning, but after snuggling into bed with Lillian and her Reagan bracelet, she calmed down. She really seems to like Lillian. She, as well as the other babies, are starting to adjust and you can see the lights coming on within their eyes. Rose was quite active and content today. She and Lillian played for a while in the floor and seemed to have a great time. She is very inquisitive and seems to study everything very hard. Everything is a new discovery for her. We've even seen some smiles today. She had a couple of grieving moments today, but overall she was a pretty happy girl. She seems to be getting acquainted with us and things continue to get better. She is still exhausted due to her normal routine/schedule being totally blown at this point, as evident by her naps off and on today and her passing totally out about 7:00 this evening. As I said yesterday, her world has been turned upside down. But, it will get better with time. Overall, we are overly please with her progress. She's a very good baby! We have been soooo blessed!

We're going to try to watch the UK game online tomorrow morning. Here's hoping your Saturday ends and my Sunday begins with a HUGE Wildcat win! Go Cats!

Introducing Savannah Dawn

What an amazing day it has been.  We have received a second very special blessing.  She is absolutely adorable.  So far she has been very calm, only crying once but was hungry and tired.  Kari has been absolutely wonderful with her.  She already loves her so much, which I knew she would.

Gotcha! Introducing Rose Mei Songmu Sisler

Once again, God has blessed us with the most precious gift of all! Today, around 2:30 p.m., we were presented with our new, precious baby girl, Rose Mei. In an instant, we were a family of four. It was just as amazing this time as it was the last. The joy and immense love we feel for this child is indescribable!

It was a rough transition for little Rose. She cried for quite a while after she was handed to us. It wasn't until we were on the bus when she finally calmed down for a few minutes after Lillian gave her a charm bracelet that had been given to Lillian by our good friend Reagan Carr. Rose was enthralled by it and we have used it throughout the day to calm her down. Reagan, you saved the day! We need to place an order for another, please.

Rose is very healthy. She still has a full head of hair, although it appears that the orphanage staff gave her a haircut prior to her trip today. She continued to cry off and on throughout a majority of the afternoon. It is good that she is greiving. The poor girl's world has been turned upside down. After a 10 minute nap in the early evening, she calmed down significantly. We met with the other families in the hallway and let them play together for a while. Rose already likes Lillian alot (and Lillian is SOOOO in love with Rose). While at the hallway party, Lillian helped her stand and then held on to her as she started walking. Lillian then let go of her hands and held out the bracelet for her to come and get. ROSE TOOK HER FIRST STEPS! The girl is walking!

We then went to dinner where Rose ate half a bottle of some rice and chicken congee (kind of like a rice porridge). She really enjoyed it. She then sat on my lap and played with the bracelet for a few minutes more before she finally just passed out from exhaustion. She now is sleeping in her crib and she is just precious.

We are worn out after such an amazing, emotional day. We are so blessed! Thank you all for all of your comments so far. It has been wonderful and comforting hearing from our friends and family from half way around the world. Enjoy the pics!
